Trick or Treat Tag

Over on the PA blog Liz is back this week with some stunning Halloween projects which you can see here, here and here.  I've sort of combined elements from all of them.  I decided to use an MDF tag as I thought it would hold the painted GP better. By the way, painting with GP isn't as easy as you'd think!! I also mixed up way too much so added some tree branches through a stencil to the top and right hand side.

I stamped some PA images in black archival onto white card and cut them out.

Using my new tango and yellow submarine fresco paints bought at the weekend, I painted the tag. I also added in blood orange which is a kind of red.

Then I added some eggplant.  Close up of the GP Treat word.

And the trick and around the edge of the tag.

I also did the branches too.

Then I decided it wasn't dark enough so I went back in with some squid ink.

And added more to the branches too to get the depth.

I randomly stamped the background of the tag, painted and assembled the images.  Love the close up of this eye stamped in the middle of the flower head and mounted on a playing counter.  I also gave the green witch some blue eye shadow!!

And this is the finished tag.

There are lots of Spooky / Halloween (colour) challenges around at the moment, here are a few I'm entering into -

Tag Along have a theme of haunted house don't know if it will count as I was actually playing along with last weeks theme which was hocus pocus!!

PanPastelUk have a theme of autumn colours, so with the red, orange and yellow I thought this might count.

Simon Says Monday have a theme of spooky

Simon Says Wednesday have a theme of Halloween / colours

Country View Crafts have a theme of something spooky

Our Creative Corner have a theme of Halloween - let's tag it on

Try it on Tuesday have a theme of Halloween

  7. Brilliant tag incorporating lots of Liz's techniques. That GP painting looked difficult to me but you've made a fab job of it and I love how you built up the layers of background colours.
