CoC3 meets Yellow

I used wild honey, mustard seed, picket fence and tarnished brass distress paints to create the marbled background for the tag.  I stamped the main image from classics #17 in black archival, the row of butterflies from the same set in rusty brown stazon. The honeycomb background was stamped in mustard stazon. Tag was edged in black soot distress paint. The crinkle ribbon was coloured with mustard seed, squeezed lemonade and wild honey distress stain and stamped with some script. Metal embellies were added to finish off.

Simon Says Monday have a theme of mellow yellow
CoC3 have a theme of paint marbling - pg 43. There are some fab give aways from T!m himself and Inspiration Emporium

Mail Art

After seeing what Chris (sorry hasn't got a blog 'yet') created using various types of papers, tissue, deli, waxed etc I needed to have a play too. I played with various thicknesses of tissue paper, some sort of wax paper and Reynolds freezer paper. I experimented with various makes of paints, Golden high flow, PA Fresco, Liquitex heavy body, Basics and Pebeo applied with scrapers, brayers and cut n dry foam and numerous stencils.

I decided to use some of them to create some mail art. As you can see from the front of the envies, I added various stamped images using black archival. I had already started to address them as yes, I actually posted them out to see if they would be robust enough to withstand the RM postal system, but then realised that was a bad idea as I had to cover the address so I quickly grabbed a photo before I put any more on!!!

And the backs. I used tissue tape to stick them down as hopefully it won't rip the envelopes when opened.

I hope the people that I sent them too liked them and more importantly, received them in one piece.

***Edited***
Every one has received their envies and they all arrived in tact - yay for RM xxx

Triple Treat - PATwits 3Up Challenge - Night 1 - LB

Over at the PA blog this week it's the turn of the PATwits to take over.  There are 3 projects being show cased each night from a designer and first up was Lin Brown. I don't have that many of Lins products because she has a love of flowers, and I don't.

First up was Shirley with her cards. I used LB stamps and die cut for the inner flower and the quote. The leaves were made using the Ellen Vargo sketchy pod shaped stamp.

Next up was Cazz with her storage unit. I decided to paint an mdf box and make it into a pen holder. I crackled the 2 sides then applied GP mixed with chutney through script and number stencils. The background colours are chartreuse and seaweed with a coat of tikka underneath.  The other 2 sides are LP images and PA Minis stamped in timber brown stazon.

And last but not least my PATwit friend Helen who decorated a paper mache hanging board. I chose a piece of mdf, painted it in chartreuse and seaweed. Stamped some LB images with chutney. Coloured some GP with seaweed and applied through a mini circle stencil. I painted the chipboard pieces with a mix of chutney and seaweed and stamped a PA mini script in black stazon.

I die cut the PA dragonfly using an off cut off a gelli print and lightly went over it in chartreuse to co-ordinate it in with the background colours.

Now the reason for the 3 projects on the one post is because this week you are only allowed 3 entries into the prize draw and as I know that Ellen Vargo and Lynne Perrella were also on the list, I'm saving myself for later in the week!!!

Washi / Tissue Tape Tag

Over on the PA blog Lin Brown is back with a fab washi tape background which you can see here. As I don't have much washi tape, I mainly used tissue tape but it's more or less the same thing and I used a tag.

I used the same colours as Lin, but a different stencil.

Then this is when I deferred as the next stage was flowers. Instead I stamped a portion of the flowery stamp on the LP028 at the top and the bottom of the same stamp at the bottom of the tag in blaze red stazon. I stamped the main image from the same plate in timber brown stazon and onto a cream coloured card, as I didn't want it to be stark white, cut out the section I wanted and hi-lighted various parts in shades of red.

Another corrugated piece using fresco paints and LP images.

Playing with Numbers

Over at Artful Times this week they have a theme of spray away. I took this photo as I didn't want to spray too much and thought most of it might end up getting covered up.

These are the 3 sprays I used. They are all browns.

I didn't really know where I was going with it, I was just playing, but this is my finished piece. I managed to sneak in some of my gelli plate pages, along with tags, stamped images, tissue tape wooden pieces and various other bits and bobs.

Close up of the tissue tape and some the the metal embellies.

I also added a vellum and corrugated tattered florals flower and a stamped butterfly and one covered in UTEE as over at Anything But a Card they have a theme of spring forward and are suggesting butterflies and flowers.

Another close up of the stitching on the tag.

And finally a close up of the sprayed ink.

A Vintage Journey have a theme of spring flowers and I'm hoping mine qualifies as I've used two of T!M's tattered florals!!

Go Grungy

Over at PanPastelUK this week, they have a theme of 'go grungy'. The background is a piece of corrugated coloured in eggplant, south Pacific and tikka fresco paints. Die cut leaf stems, LP images, wooden tag and frame work die stamped with script. Main LP image is stamped in royal purple stazon on an orange coloured piece of card which has been brayered.

PA Guest Designer - Huge Tag Using LP & EV Stamps

Evening all. I was asked by the PA team if I would like to make something for their blog, and to keep it quick, simple and easy to do. If you've not seen it, check it out here and if you join in with any of the weeks projects you could be picked at random to win a stamp plate of your choice.

I brayered the above colours onto a size #12 tag, starting with the caramel, then the new colour of autumn fire and finally a splash of blood orange.

Stamped the sketchy rectangle from the EEV02 set all over the background in black archival.

I took the white Posca pen and high-lighted some of the lines.

Close up of the background.

Next I took a size #8 tag in corrugated card, peeled back some of the top layer and painted it in blood orange fresco paint.

I stamped some LP images onto white card in black and blaze red stazon and mounted them onto the corrugated tag, using the butterfly to lay over the same piece on the main image.

Die cut the pediments in Prima resist checkered canvas.

Scribbled over the canvas with the red portfolio pastel and blended it with a baby wipe. Taking a clean piece of the baby wipe, wipe over the resist part to reveal the white.

I scrunched up a piece of crunchy wax paper, brayered it with blood orange fresco paint and stamped it with oriental script from the Ink and the Dog Asian plate #3. I stamped the symbol from Asian plate #4 and added a few to the tag.

Finally I outlined the tag with a black marker pen, punched a hole and added a reinforcer and some ribbon.

Corrugated Tag

Over on the PaperPlay Forum we have a tag theme of leaves for this month. I used various shades of green frescos to colour all the elements, stamped the main LP image over the heart, added script to the leaf stem and the banner piece and an EV sketchy stamp to the background, all in black stazon.

UnFinished Gelli Print Page

I first saw this technique on Helen's blog, which then lead me to the PA Blog and Darcy's Month 3 journalling. I decided to use one of my gelli plate pages I created using layers and layers of paint and a Stencil Girls stencil as I don't have, or want, a journal.

After stamping the Ellen Vargo arch in snowflake paint I went back and blocked them in.

Then as Darcy did, I mixed some beach hut and some south Pacific paint to make a bright blue.  Painted several coats over the white, and stamped the EV arch over the top in black archival ink.

And then I went in with my fave, the white pen!!!

Close up of the white pen effort.

Then I stamped some of the other Ellen Vargo stamps onto leftover pieces of gelli print pages, cut them out and went in with the white pen again.

And this is my finished page. I was going to cut it out and edge it in black, but then because the prominent word is 'unfinished' I just decided to leave it looking unfinished!!

I hope this is allowed as I'm not sure if it has to actually be a journal page or if you can just take inspiration from it and make what you want. But I'm sure Darcy will put me right.

And as I mixed far too much blue paint, I covered a tag and continued with the arch theme as a border.

Dots added with white pen and PA Mini #72

More Ellen Vargo images stamped in black archival onto scraps of gelli plate pages.

More white dots added to the splats and the middle EV square.

Black, White & a Splash

Over at That's Crafty, they have a theme of black and white with a splash. This gave me a great opportunity to use my new set of T!m stamps, classics #17, along with a wooden text stamp I picked up in Hobby Lobby and the stazon red blaze splatters are stamped with one of my purchases from Paris.

Been playing.....

With my gelli plate most of yesterday and have a gazillion prints, well 54 to be exact - hehehe!!

Then I went back in with stamps, a posca pen and a marker and added marks and things to them.

Bit more of a close up of the additions.
